Description:
Budesonide is a synthetic glucocorticoid steroidhaving potent glucocoticoid activity and weak mineralocorticoid activity.It has approximately a 200-fold higher affinity for the glucocorticoid receptor and a 100-fold  higher  topical anti inflammatory potency than cortisol

Mechanism of Action:
Budesonide inhibits inflammatory mediators release in nasal mucosa.The inflammatory mediators are-
  •  Histamine
  • Tryptase
  • Prostaglandins
  • Eosinophils
  • Basophils
Budesonide also inhibits-
  • Venule dialation
  • Nasal swelling
                            Thus Budesonide provides  Anti inflammatory and decongestant effect.

Indications:
  1. Rhinitis
  2. Asthma with persistant rhinitis
  3. Rhinosinusitis
Dosage and Administration:
From the 6 years of age: 1 spray for each nostril (Maximum 2 sprays for each nostrils)
